Doctors who treated the person mention that the injury was a rare occurrence. It is not the injury on penis was rare but the way of injury was rare. Usually horizontal tear would happen but in this case the persons penis was teared vertically 3 cm, which was found after a MRI scan. And the person doesn't even have any symptoms that could happen for classic penile facture. And he didn't even hear a pop sound or rolling sign.
He suffered this injury during sex with his partner when his penis forced against his partners perineum, the area between genitals and the anus. His penis was swollen slightly and didn't lose his erection immediately but the erection was faded gradually.

If treatment wasn't done immediately ( within 24hrs) there may be a chance of permanent erectile disinfection and curved penis then before. While penile fractures are not reported due to embarrassment but fortunately he reported and surgery was done so that he can resume his sexual activity within 6 months if there is no problems or side effects happened during this period.
